The Current WBA light middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will meet the former WBA / WBC welterweight champion Ricardo Mayorga in a highly anticipated boxing match scheduled this March 12, 2011. Cotto, the pride of Puerto Rico will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight division title against the two division world champion Ricardo Mayorga on Saturday, March 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Miguel Cotto is a Puerto Rican professional boxer. As an amateur, Cotto represented Puerto Rico in the light weight division and the light welterweight divisions at various international events including the 1999 Pan American Games, 2000 and 1998 Summer Olympics World Junior Championships where he won a silver medal.

Ricardo Mayorga is a Nicaraguan professional boxer. He is a former WBA-WBC welterweight champion and former WBC junior middleweight champion. His professional boxing 29-7-1-23 KO's. Mayorga last major battle took place in late 2008 when he was stopped with with just one second left by Sugar Shane Mosley. Ricardo Mayorga, 29-7-1, 23 knockouts, is looking for a big win, going into his showdown boxing match, with the WBA Light Middleweight Champion Miguel Cotto, 35-2, 28 KO's, on March 12, 2011.
